I've been hardbooting since 1996 and got a Burton Factory Prime in 1998, I started skiing when I was 5 years old
Because I like the technical side of riding, the same way I like the ski slalom better then downhill. It takes more technical skill to do both of them. And there is nothing that compares to the rush of a well done run down a slope with all perfect carves.
I'm not sure if there is a need for hardbooting to be raised, it will always be a smaller niche of wintersports, and from what I have seen in the last couple of years it is slowly growing and maturing. But it would be nice if more people would see, how many developments started in Hardbooting and have been used in softbooting and skiing. So, in a sence it is kinda like going into space, the things that have been discovered and developed for space travel are now used in every day life.
As for training, I am very much an auto didact, I have mostly taught myself. But I have had training in the last 4 years. The best is to ride as much as possible, listen to and watch others and talk about it.
what to say to a starter? You will fall, and it will hurt 😉
what to say to whom alread has? If, on an average day, you haven't fallen, you haven't tried hard enough.
